Software development Built in house Since 2001

Software that fits.

Before we ever built websites for estate agents, we wrote software. We still do: booking engines, scanning systems, notifications and back office tools, built around the way a business actually works rather than the way a boxed product assumes it does.

One that says it all

The problem

A turnkey system that never worked

A contractor scanning energy efficiency forms for the Sandwell Warm Zone, a council scheme tackling fuel poverty, had bought an off the shelf solution. It never worked, and the contract depended on it.

What we built

Scanning software that did the job

We wrote them a system around the forms, the volumes and the deadlines they actually had. It processed the backlog and kept up from then on.

What happened

One council became the whole country

It worked so well they went on to handle the work nationally, and when the Government asked for the data, theirs was the operation able to supply it.

Software developmentTalk to us ↗︎

The other half of the story.

We began in 2001 as software people, and the property websites came later, built on top of software we had already written. The systems that upload listings, process portal feeds and run the back office behind our agent sites are ours, written in house and maintained by the same team you would speak to on the phone.

That means when someone brings us a problem that has nothing to do with property, we do not flinch. Software is software: the discipline of understanding a process properly, then writing something that fits it, is the same whether the subject is a property listing, a scanned form or a booked party.

Most of our software work arrives the same way. Someone has outgrown a spreadsheet, or bought a boxed product that promised everything and delivered a headache, and they want a person to explain the problem to rather than a sales page. We listen first, tell you honestly whether bespoke software is worth it, and give you a clear estimate when it is.

And because we run our own systems for hundreds of websites, we build things to be lived with: modern, genuinely easy to use, quick to support, and still working years later without drama.

Some of what we have written

Built because somebody needed it.

Public sector supply chain

Document scanning, from one council to the whole country

The energy efficiency forms story above. The scanning sat inside the Sandwell Warm Zone, a scheme tackling fuel poverty across the borough, with local energy surveys, insulation and heating grants flowing through it, and the contractor's admin and operational support linked into community services and council initiatives. The turnkey system they had bought never worked from day one; ours did, and the work went national.

Our own platform

The website management system behind our sites

The content and property management platform our client websites run on, from listings and portal feeds to page editing. We use it every day ourselves, which keeps us honest about how it feels to operate.

Events & leisure

Online booking for parties

Booking software for children's parties and adult events: dates, capacity, options and payments handled online, so the phone stops being the booking system.

Fire safety

Resident notifications for fire door checks

A fire safety company must let residents of flats know before engineers arrive to inspect fire doors. We built the system that sends those pre-alerts, so visits happen on time and nobody is caught unaware.

Hospitality

B&B booking software

Room availability, bookings and guest details for bed and breakfasts, built to suit how a small hospitality business actually runs rather than forcing it into hotel-chain software.

Property, our home turf

Portal feeds and back office systems

The software that moves listings between agents, websites and the major property portals, along with the back office tools agents rely on. It is the work everything else here grew from.

Clients described rather than named, and there is more where these came from. Ask us about anything similar to yours.

Good questions

Software questions.

1We are not an estate agency. Can we still come to you?+
Yes. Property websites are our specialism, but software has been the foundation of the business since 2001, and the software work has always ranged well beyond property: councils' contractors, events companies, fire safety, hospitality and more.
2We bought a system that does not work. Can you rescue it?+
Sometimes it can be fixed, and sometimes the honest answer is that it needs replacing with something written around your process. We will look at what you have and tell you which, plainly, before any money changes hands.
3What does bespoke software cost?+
It depends entirely on the problem, which is why we start by mapping it with you. Once the scope is agreed you get a clear estimate up front, and if anything changes along the way we tell you before it costs you a penny more. If bespoke is not worth it for your case, we will say so.
4Who owns the software and the data?+
Your data is yours, always. Ownership and licensing of the software itself is agreed up front in plain English as part of the estimate, so there are no surprises later.
5Do you support it after launch?+
Yes, for the long haul. Some of the systems described on this page have been running for years, looked after by the same people who wrote them. Software you cannot get supported is a liability, and we do not build liabilities.
6How do we start?+
Bring us the problem, not a specification. A conversation about what is actually going wrong, or what you wish existed, is worth more than a requirements document. Twenty minutes is usually enough to know whether we are the right people to build it.
Ready when you are

The software you cannot buy off a shelf.

If a boxed product has let you down, or the thing your business needs simply does not exist yet, tell us what is going wrong and we will tell you honestly what we would build.
